The Brazilian has made no impact in Europe and was named Bidone d’Oro – Flop of the Year – after failing to make a single Serie A start following his €29.5m move from Santos.
A loan spell at Benfica has been equally dismal and he wants a return to Santos, but the Brazilian club has no intention of paying for the privilege.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter are holding firm and won’t let Gabigol make the move unless Santos pay €3m between the cost of the loan and at least part of his salary.
If that situation does not change, he’ll remain on loan at Benfica for the rest of the season.
