“Proud” Giuseppe Sannino was presented to the media as the new Siena Coach for his Serie A management debut.

“I am honoured to be here, proud to train a Serie A side and for it to be Siena, a club that shares my philosophy of football,” said the former Varese boss.

“I think that at the end of the day my hard work has paid off. I trained in every League, was fortunate to win in all of them and am now here.”

Sannino steps in to replace Antonio Conte, who achieved promotion from Serie B and then joined Juventus.

“I thank Conte and hope to continue his level of success at Siena. I also thank Varese, even though unfortunately we were unable to get through the promotion play-offs.

“In a few days I went from the bitterness of that defeat to the joy of this new adventure. I am not good with words, as I let actions speak for me, but I hope this can be the beginning of many great moments for Siena and for me.”
