Antonio Sanabria revelled in the delight of scoring on his Genoa debut and warned Serie A defences ‘I’m not 17 anymore’.

Genoa only made Sanabria’s transfer official a matter of hours before he came off the substitutes’ bench to wrap up Genoa’s 3-1 win at Empoli on Monday evening.

“We had a great game on a difficult pitch,” the former Real Betis striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m happy to mark my return to Italy with a goal, which I dedicate to my partner Maria and friend Timmy.”

This is the Paraguayan’s second spell in Italian football, having joined Roma in 2014 as a 17-year-old and playing just four times for them and Sassuolo.

“I’m mature enough for Serie A, I’m not 17 anymore,” he added.

Empoli closed us down in the first half, but then we managed to hit them in space.”
