Carlos Bacca “told us it’s not a good moment for him at Milan and it would be great to have him with us,” said Sevilla Coach Jorge Sampaoli.

The striker visited his old club during the weekend and even trained with them, fuelling reports he wanted a return to Spain.

“It would be good and important to have him with us, but right now he plays for another club,” said Sampaoli in a Press conference.

“We have a very high opinion of Carlos, we saw him in the World Cup and Copa America, while he is loved here.

“Could we buy him back? There are many factors to consider. It would be a solution that’d be great for the team, but it is very unlikely we’ll see Milan let such an important player go.

“We had a chat and he told us that it’s not a good moment for him at Milan. Carlos is a non-EU player, so there are various obstacles. We have to take these factors into consideration in future if we want his arrival to be possible.”

When it comes to one of the factors Sampaoli mentioned, there is no issue, because multiple reports state Milan are trying to sell Bacca abroad during the January transfer window.

His work rate does not match up with Coach Vincenzo Montella’s demands and Gianluca Lapadula is increasingly preferred.

The Rossoneri price-tag is €30m, exactly the same amount they paid for Bacca in the summer of 2015.
