Sampdoria have this afternoon confirmed they will buy out Empoli’s share of Vasco Regini.

The Italy U21 defender spent two seasons at the Tuscan side but last year managed to break into the Blucerchiati first team following the arrival of Sinisa Mihajlovic as Coach.

With co-ownerships now being phased out of Italian football, Samp announced today that they have reached an agreement to become the sole owners of the player’s sporting rights.

“UC Sampdoria communicates that it has reached an agreement with Empoli FC for the player Vasco Regini,” a statement by the club reads.

“The sporting rights of the defender will pass entirely to the writers [of the statement].”
