Torreira’s stock reached new heights after his goal in Sampdoria’s 3-2 win against Juventus last weekend, but despite the queue of clubs lining up for the midfielder, Carlo Osti made it clear he would be going nowhere.

“Torreira has gone from Serie B to A with ridiculous ease,” he told La Repubblica.

“Torreira has gone from Serie B to A with ridiculous ease,” he told La Repubblica.

“It was said that if he scored even just a few goals, he’d be perfect. He’s already scored three and my phone rang continuously on Monday.

“Still, no-one will leave in January, even if everyone’s already asking me about him.”
