Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has started to draw up a strategy to snatch Udinese starlet Lazar Samardzic in the summer, keen to beat out the interested Brighton and Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old Serbian midfielder has been one of the few bright spots for the Friulian outfit this term, scoring four goals and providing two assists across 30 league matches as his club struggles to find a rhythm in Serie A.

Udinese currently find themselves 18th in the table with four matches left to play, making relegation look a serious risk. For Samardzic, this could give him a route out of the club after his recent links to Napoli and Inter.

Samardzic opportunity

Page two of today’s Tuttosport details how Udinese would be forced to drop their €25m price tag on Samardzic should they ultimately suffer relegation to Serie B, creating an intriguing transfer market opportunity for interested clubs.

With Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Brighton all keen, Juventus are hoping to get an edge and have started to develop a strategy, thinking about a loan offer with an obligation to buy clause attached, including Nicolussi Caviglia in a deal worth around €15-16m total.
