An ardent Milan fan, Salvini [pictured, right] lashed out at Gattuso’s tactics after the Rossoneri fell to a last-gasp Lazio equaliser on Sunday.
The Lega Nord leader quickly backtracked on his criticism, and he has reiterated that he was only speaking as a supporter.
“I’ve been texting Gattuso,” he told reporters.
“I told him I said what I said as a fan and that I didn’t intend to attack him.”
