Deputy Italian PM Matteo Salvini will call an emergency meeting in the New Year after asserting ‘you can’t die for a football match in 2018’.

Four Napoli fans were stabbed and an Inter supporter died from being hit by a van outside San Siro on Wednesday, prompting Salvini [pictured, right] to take action.

“You can’t die for a football match in 2018,” tweeted the Minister of the Interior and Milan fan.

“You can’t die for a football match in 2018,” tweeted the Minister of the Interior and Milan fan.

“At the start of the year, I’ll call the leaders of fan groups and clubs in Serie A and Serie B for a meeting at the Viminale so that stadiums and their surroundings go back to being a place of fun and not violence.”
