The Egypt international thanked the former Giallorossi coach Luciano Spalletti in an interview with Marca.

“I had to work a lot on my finishing, I wasn’t born with the goals,” the former Roma attacker said.

“I didn’t score many goals when I was in Basel. Then I joined Chelsea, Fiorentina and Roma.

“I worked a lot with Mister Spalletti and almost every day, after the training sessions, we spent time together on the pitch to practice, practice and practice.

“I even created a pitch in my garden to practice and improve my finishing. If you work hard, results will come naturally.”

His Liverpool contract expires in 2023. Is La Liga the next stop for him after Serie A and the Premier League?

“I hope I can play football for many years, so why not? Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future. Who knows, maybe one day I will [move to Spain].”
