Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio has reportedly rescinded his contract, freeing him to join Napoli or Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A Bola claimed earlier in the week that a deal was done to take Rui Patricio to Napoli, but rival Record responded on Friday morning that Sporting President Bruno de Carvalho had ‘blocked everything’, while the English Press reported Wolves were looking to hijack the transfer.

However, in a surprise twist of events, Record is now claiming that the Portuguese has decided to tear up his contract after fans of the Lisbon club recently stormed into their training ground.

If Rui Patricio does not move to the Partenopei, ItaSportPress believes they could switch their attentions to Alphonse Areola and Salvatore Sirigu – both of whom played under new boss Carlo Ancelotti at Paris Saint-Germain.
