Roma defender Antonio Rudiger confessed Germany were “more motivated” against Italy than England.

They fumbled a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 with England on Saturday, but this evening crushed the Azzurri 4-1 in another friendly.

“We were more organised and more concentrated than against England, while we were also more motivated, because it’s always special for Germany to face Italy,” Rudiger told Rai Sport.

“Italy were missing some key players, but they are generally focused on a strong defence and so for them to concede four goals will have really hurt.

“I am happy to have won tonight, now my focus is all on Sunday’s game against Lazio.”
