Giuseppe Rossi’s agent believes the striker will be ready to play for Genoa in “three weeks, a month at most”.

The Italian international is set to join the Grifone, having recovered from the latest in a series of serious knee injuries, and he could be on the pitch before 2018.

“There’s a huge desire to start again,” Andrea Pastorello told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We evaluated various options but Genoa was the ideal solution. Giuseppe is super fired-up and can’t wait to get started.

“We had other offers, not just from Italy but from Spain and some other non-European countries, but Genoa was the best solution because it’s good club, and a prestigious one.

“The team is in a delicate position and Giuseppe is motivated to help the team get out of it.

“The contract? Until the end of the season and beyond, there’s an option for the club to extend it for next season.

“He has to get back to training with the team, but I think that within three weeks, a month at most, he’ll be totally available.”
