Giuseppe Rossi assured he is “close to the finish line” after years of injury problems and “never considered leaving Fiorentina.”

He scored 17 goals in just 26 games for the Viola, but had multiple knee operations and missed all of last season.

Pepito appeared for 17 minutes in the 3-1 defeat to Torino last week.

“I hope we can win against Genoa on Saturday, to represent this city in the best way and give our fans some joy,” said Rossi when presented with the Torrino d’Oro award.
