Cristiano Ronaldo insists he had his “best season at Juventus” and is sure they’ll win the Champions League sooner or later.
The Portugal international was in Madrid to receive an award from Marca on Monday and spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his first campaign in Italy.
“It wasn’t easy for me to leave Real Madrid after such a long time and arrive in a different league like Serie A, with new teammates, all at the age of 33.

“It wasn’t easy for me to leave Real Madrid after such a long time and arrive in a different league like Serie A, with new teammates, all at the age of 33.
“This is why I believe that I had my best season. I won the Scudetto and Italian Super Cup at Juve, then the Nations League with Portugal, so that’s three trophies in just one year.”
Ronaldo had been brought in to win the Champions League, but Juve did not progress past the quarter-finals.
“We’ll try to win the Champions League, but we know as always that it’s a difficult competition. Juventus are up there, but other teams are also built to win: Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City.
“Only one of them can achieve it and I hope it’s Juventus. However, the Champions League is not an obsession. I am calm because I see how we are working every day and I know Juve will win it. If it’s not this year, then it’ll be the next.”
CR7 is unconcerned by suggestions he’s less likely to win the Ballon d’Or after moving to Juventus.
“I don’t know if I’ll have a sixth Ballon d’Or, but the most important thing is that my career keeps going well. The transfer to Juventus gave me new motivation, as I needed a change, but winning has not taken away my hunger. I want to keep going.”
