Alessio Romagnoli relished his second consecutive last-gasp winner, but “I hope the best is yet to come” for Milan.

Just days after a stoppage-time strike to beat Genoa, the defender was in the right place at the right time again to earn a 1-0 victory away to Udinese.

“I try to give my best and we hope to maintain this tempo,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

Just days after a stoppage-time strike to beat Genoa, the defender was in the right place at the right time again to earn a 1-0 victory away to Udinese.

“I try to give my best and we hope to maintain this tempo,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

“Maybe we’re more determined than before, as we allowed too much against Cagliari, Empoli and Atalanta. We are more united and fired up in every way, so we fight to the bitter end.

“There are no first or second choices here, we all play for a great club and want to give our best. It was a great game, we struggled in the first half, but emerged as time wore on and grabbed an important victory.

“This is probably my best period since I’ve been at Milan, but I hope the best is yet to come.”
