Roma and Torino are reportedly battling it out to sign Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga.

Roma’s first choice to replace the injured Diego Perotti had been Taison, but Shakhtar Donetsk are demanding €25m for the Brazilian.

With that in mind, Il Romanista writes the Giallorossi have immediately turned to Boga, offering Sassuolo €7m for his services.

The Ivorian joined the Neroverdi from Chelsea last summer and made 25 Serie A appearances in 2018-19, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Primarily a right-footed left winger, he can also play on the other flank or through the middle as a second striker or attacking midfielder.

The Emilians paid €3.5m for the 22-year-old, with Chelsea retaining a buyback option, although they cannot exercise it until January due to their transfer ban.

However, Sky Sport Italia warns Toro could rival the Lupi for Boga after failing to agree a deal for Napoli forward Simone Verdi.
