There had already been rumours of Spurs interest in the Italy international, but Sportmediaset claim the situation is progressing rapidly.
Their sources maintain director of sport Sabatini is already in London and will attend tomorrow’s Premier League match between Tottenham and West Ham United.
The Giallorossi need to sell, as their budget is €15m in the red for this summer, so Destro or Adem Ljajic are on the market.
They have set a €25m (£20m) price-tag on ex-Siena centre-forward Destro.
Wolfsburg reportedly already made an offer worth €22m, but Destro is unsure about the destination.
