Roma striker Romelu Lukaku trained separately at Trigoria this morning and is expected to miss Thursday’s Europa League clash with Brighton.

Belgian striker Lukaku didn’t join his teammates for a training session at Trigoria on Wednesday morning and is not expected to be available for Thursday’s Europa League game against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Lukaku is not injured, but he’s expected to remain in Rome. Daniele De Rossi was already considering starting Sardar Azmoun against Brighton on Thursday and given that Lukaku is not fully fit, the Belgian striker will remain in the capital.

De Rossi will confirm the Roma squad for tomorrow’s game with Brighton before their trip to England later today.

Roma beat Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico last week in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

Their next Serie A game is at home against strugglers Sassuolo on Sunday, March 17.

Lukaku has scored 18 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
