Virginia Raggi, the mayor of Rome, assures “we will continue” with the Roma stadium project, once checks have been carried out.
Nine people were arrested for alleged corruption relating to the project earlier this week, though the prosecutor made it clear that club was not implicated.
Today CEO Mauro Baldissoni went to meet with the mayor, as they look to guarantee the Stadio della Roma will still go ahead.

“We considered it necessary to touch base with the administration to assess what happened in the past few days, as well as the procedural steps at our disposal to safeguard our project, for which we have worked for many year,” Baldissoni explained after the meeting.
It appears the talks were successful, as Raggi indicated the city will allow the construction in Tor di Valle to go ahead.
“For the sake of the security of the citizens, the administration, and Rome, we’ll immediately carry out checks.
“If this verification yields a positive result we’ll continue, we’ll continue with this project. Everything else is up to the magistrates.
“We’re continuing with this project in full legality, and this verification will be a further guarantee. We start from what the prosecutor affirmed, namely that the proceedings of the of the project are apparently all valid.”
