Roma would appear to have identified their midfield reinforcement after Georginio Wijnaldum’s injury, closing on Mady Camara of Olympiacos.

The 25-year-old Guinea international is under contract until June 2024 and had also been heavily linked with another Serie A side in Monza and LOSC in Ligue 1.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi are close to a deal with the Greek club to take him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Negotiations are in progress with both Olympiacos and Camara’s entourage, agreeing personal terms already.

LaRoma24.it claim it will be €2m for the loan and a further €8m option to buy.

Jose Mourinho’s transfer plans were forced to change after Wijnaldum fractured his leg during a training session, ruling him out of action for several months.

He had only just arrived on loan with option to buy from Paris Saint-Germain and made one substitute appearance against Salernitana.

Camara joined Olympiacos from AC Ajaccio in 2018 and last season contributed two goals and two assists in 45 official matches.

  1. If the news is valid, then i think Pinto did a great business to take a relevant centrocampista to its Rooster and take Gini role in Mourinho plans. Forza Roma!
