Sabatini is highly unpopular amid supporters, who have been calling for his sack for several months.

There is a general sense that he will resign at the end of this season, and Repubblica further stoked the rumours today by claiming that he already told other directors about his intention of leaving.

Sabatini is being linked to other teams such as Sampdoria, but apparently he will not be taking another job after the current tenure, or at least not for some time.

The director reportedly needs to recuperate his mental and physical energies.
