Roma president Dan Friedkin has joined the negotiations for PSG midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and both parties are confident of reaching a deal soon.

The Giallorossi are still working to strengthen Jose Mourinho’s squad a little ahead of the rapidly approaching Serie A season and Wijnaldum may be the final piece of the puzzle. Talks between Roma and PSG have been ongoing for a little while now and things are seemingly moving positively.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Friedkin has entered the negotiations in order to help things move forward. He is friends with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the pair are both keen to agree a transfer soon.

PSG are seemingly willing to pay at least half of Wijnaldum’s wages, making a deal significantly more accessible for the Giallorossi.

Roma will have to move fast, however, as competition is starting to grow in the Premier League. The appeal of Mourinho’s growing project in the Italian capital could still prove tempting enough, however.
