Roma have been in negotiations with Chelsea for Mohamed Salah all day, but reports are “not optimistic.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, director Walter Sabatini flew out to London for talks and the meeting stretched on from 12.00 GMT to well into the evening.

However, the same report suggests both parties are not optimistic about finding a deal.

Chelsea want £550,000 for the six-month loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for £11m.

Roma are trying to get the loan price reduced or even removed completely for the 22-year-old, as they’d be paying his full wages too.

There are other problems too, as former agent Oliver Kronenberg is said to be lodging a complaint with the Football Association to decide who actually represents Salah.
