Roma have lost another player to the sidelines as tests confirm that Lorenzo Pellegrini has suffered a thigh injury.

The 26-year-old Italian midfielder has featured in all but one of the Giallorossi’s games in Serie A and the Europa League this season, being a reliable and important part of Jose Mourinho’s squad.  Pellegrini was forced off in the 53rd minute of Roma’s Derby della Capitale defeat to Lazio yesterday, being replaced by Cristian Volpato.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, tests have confirmed that Pellegrini has suffered a first-degree injury to the flexor in his right thigh, forcing him to the sidelines for around 15 days. The 26-year-old will not take part in Roma’s upcoming games against Sassuolo and Torino so he’ll return to action after the World Cup break.

The Giallorossi are hoping to recover injured star Paulo Dybala for the clash against Torino on November 13.

Pellegrini has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 18 games across all competitions for Roma this season.
