The Giallorossi have completely revamped their squad and continue to tweak it to fit Luis Enrique’s vision.

A new centre-back is required after Nicolas Andre Burdisso was ruled out for six months by a knee injury while on international duty with Argentina.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that Uruguayan veteran Lugano is the big target for January, renewing interest that was already there in the summer.

He is 31 years old and therefore could be released at an agreeable price for the Giallorossi.

Newspapers also suggest Roma are planning ahead to next season by battling Inter for Udinese’s Chilean winger Isla.

It’s a difficult task, as Isla’s price-tag is at least €16m.
