Federico Di Francesco, the son of Sassuolo Coach Eusebio, could follow his father’s footsteps by playing for Roma.

The 22-year-old winger scored two goals in the Italy Under-21 international victory over Andorra last night.

He also earned a summer transfer to Bologna, but is already catching the eye of bigger clubs.

According to Calciomercato.it, Roma are setting their sights on Di Francesco for January or next summer.

He plays on the right side of midfield or an attacking trident and started out at the Pescara youth academy, just like his father.

There were then spells at Parma, Gubbio, Cremonese and Virtus Lanciano.

Last season in Serie B he scored eight goals with five assists in 36 Serie B appearances for Lanciano.
