Luis Enrique insists his Roma side can’t dream of the Scudetto just yet on the eve of their interrupted game against Catania.

The Giallorossi are on a high after beating Inter 4-0 at the weekend, but the tactician is keeping his troops grounded.

“You can’t say that we are good enough for the Scudetto just yet,” the Spaniard noted on Tuesday. “To be a great team we need continuity and we don’t have that.

“Up until today, only Milan have been superior to us over 90 minutes, but we are some way off when it comes to consistency.”

Roma will face Catania in Sicily tomorrow to play the remaining 25 minutes of their abandoned rain-affected Week 18 tie. The score is presently at 1-1.

“I expect us to play our game and Catania to try to hit us on the counter by taking advantage of any mistakes from us,” the former Barcelona B boss added.

“We’ll have to see which side is the nastier and has the hunger to get the three points.

“I’ll make my decisions with the intention of winning the game. It will certainly be a strange tie, but 30 minutes will be enough if we play well.

“I expect us to attack and the longer we stay in their half of the pitch then the better it will be. It will be tough though.”

Roma could actually move into fifth, above Inter, with a win at the Stadio Massimino on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Enrique expressed his satisfaction with the news that Daniele De Rossi has extended his contract until 2017.

“I expected the renewal, I always said that,” he continued. “As soon as I arrived I saw his mentality. He’s a reference point for the team, one of the highest level, and I expect a lot from him.

“There are players who can do a lot on the pitch and he is one of them.”
