The future of Fabio Borini is in the hands of Roma, Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has noted.

The international, part of Italy’s Euro 2012 squad, is co-owned between both clubs and a decision on his future will have to be made before the end of this month.

“Borini can’t return to Parma,” Ghirardi told Gazzetta Giallorossa in an interview. “When a player is linked with a  club like Roma then he can’t come back to a club like Parma.

“Roma will have to carefully evaluate their options. They can either keep him or decide to cash in on him given that a lot of important clubs are interested in his signature.”

The 21-year-old moved to Parma on a free transfer last summer after Chelsea opted against handing him a new contract.

He then joined Roma on loan for the season, before the capital club decided to buy a half-share in him during the January transfer session.

“We have a good relationship with Roma and there will be a new meeting soon,” Ghirardi added. “Everything will be resolved with calmness.”
