According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma are very close to completing a deal for Abner to arrive in January.
It would be a coup, as he is also of interest to the likes of Wolfsburg, Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Giallorossi already had a basic agreement with Abner before he damaged his cruciate ligament during the Under-17 World Cup in October.
He will not be fit again until April 2014, but Roma see him as a valuable investment for the future.
