The Giallorossi were sanctioned by UEFA today for breaching FFP, which is designed to ensure that clubs operate within their means.

“Today AS Roma and UEFA reached an agreement regarding the Financial Fair Play compliance,” the Lupi announced on their official website.

“The agreement was necessary due to a historical deviation from UEFA's break-even requirement stemming from past economic losses and the challenging financial situation of the club before the current ownership's takeover.

“This agreement was reached after several months of dialogue with UEFA during which the substantial accomplishments achieved on and off the field were recognised.

“The agreement allows the Club to continue to confidently execute its strategic business plan for growth in all areas.

“AS Roma continues to support Financial Fair Play and is proud to serve as a model for new ownership and management in football, particularly those taking over challenged clubs.”
