Jose Mourinho’s assistant manager Salvatore Foti had a nasty surprise after Roma’s Europa League semi-final win over Bayer Leverkusen, returning to find someone had stolen the doors to his car.

The incident occurred overnight on Thursday after the match and he discovered on Friday morning that two doors had been removed from the vehicle.

It is not yet clear if the vandals knew whose car they were wrecking, but they certainly did plenty of damage, taking both the front and rear door on the driver’s side.

Foti had already been forced to watch that 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen from the stands at the Stadio Olimpico, as he was sitting out a three-match UEFA ban.

That was imposed for his touchline tussle with Santiago Gimenez during the Europa League quarter-final against Feyenoord, where he seemed to push and perhaps even punch the player.

Mourinho has regularly been suspended in Serie A and Foti has if anything a worse disciplinary record.
