There was a beautiful tribute as the entire Stadio Olimpico united to salute Sinisa Mihajlovic, the former Bologna coach and Roma player.

The Serbian started his Serie A career in this very stadium for the Giallorossi in 1992, remaining for two years before going on to represent Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter.

As a coach, he had two different spells at Bologna, in 2008-09 and again from January 2019 until his dismissal in September 2022.

Mihajlovic succumbed to an aggressive form of leukaemia on December 16 2022, over three years after his initial diagnosis.

Both captains and sets of fans came together with banners for Mihajlovic, as the Stadio Olimpico crowd united as one in tribute.

Ciao Sinisa.
