Reports over the weekend suggested that the Giallorossi had beaten off competition from a host of clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham, to secure a deal for the 19-year-old, but a difference in valuation reportedly forced the French champions into pursuing negotiations with other suitors.
However, according to Le Parisien, the two sides have now struck a deal, which will see Roma pay €10m in total, split between an initial payment of €5m now, and a further €5m to follow next summer.
It comes in quick succession of PSG President Nasser El-Khelaifi’s warning that Rabiot could end up elsewhere if no agreement with the Lupi was forthcoming.
“The deal with Roma is not yet complete," he told Canal +. “We're talking with other clubs, as well as them [Roma].
“Arsenal? I can't say anything about that, as there are ongoing negotiations. I can only say that the player will probably leave.”
Rabiot, whose contract expires next summer, broke into the PSG first team last season, scoring twice in 25 Ligue 1 appearances.
