Former Serie A defender Daniele Adani believes boos from Inter fans didn’t affect Romelu Lukaku as much as Roma‘s playing style: ‘It wasn’t even a football game.’

Lukaku had a tough game at San Siro against his former club Inter on Sunday. He was welcomed by furious Nerazzurri supporters with 40,000 whistles and his performance was so poor that he was named the worst player on the pitch by Italian sports papers.

The Giallorossi played a defensive game against the Nerazzurri and Adani believes José Mourinho’s tactics affected Big Rom more than insults from his former supporters.

“I think he [Lukaku] is the last one to be blamed,” Adani told Bobo TV on Monday.

“He wasn’t affected by those boos, but by Roma’s tactical plan. Inter have dropped points against Sassuolo and Bologna who are not superior to Roma. You can’t play football if you don’t even try.

“That wasn’t even a football match,” contineud Adani.

“It’s hard to analyse the game because one side did anything to win and the other tried everything not to obtain something. One thing is to sit deep, another thing is to defend on the edge of the box.”
