Francesco Totti has admitted that Roma are ’99 per cent’ out of the title race, but has insisted that his men won’t give up.

The Giallorossi were fighting alongside Juventus early on in the campaign, but are currently 14 points behind the Bianconeri in second place.

But despite the numbers, the captain has claimed that his side will keep on going until the end of the season.

“We believed in the championship,” he told reporters. “We were first and now we’re second.

“But we were there for a long time. We believed. However, it’s 99 per cent gone.

“Even with one per cent though, we’ll keep going until the maths tell us otherwise.

“Juve are a strong team though. They are likely to win the League for three years, so they have to be given credit.”

The legendary goalscorer then commented on reports that Miralem Pjanic could leave the club, and his relationship with former teammates and Coaches.

“I’m not here to tell players to stay, but I hope he does. He is a young player who has phenomenal talent.

“To find that sort of player, anywhere in the world, is not easy.

“We joke around a lot, but only he knows whether he’ll stay.

“I speak with Del Piero now and then via text, and I also hear from Gattuso and Gigi [Buffon] a lot. Lippi I speak to often as well.

“Prandelli? He has never spoken with me, and I don’t think he will.”
