Torino have announced Ricardo Rodriguez has suffered a hamstring injury during international duty with Switzerland.

The Swiss won Group C after the 1-1 draw with Italy and a 4-0 win over Bulgaria this month, and thus qualified for the World Cup 2022 next year.

But Rodriguez has returned to the club with an injury and the 29-year-old left-back will miss the match against Udinese on Monday.

Spezia have ‘recovered some players’ during the break

The former Milan player has appeared 11 times this term and is a valuable member of Ivan Juric’s squad.

Torino are 12th in Serie A with 14 points from 12 games and are hoping to put pressure on the top half of the table.

The Granata are hoping to build on the two home wins against Genoa and Sampdoria with Udinese arriving to Turin on November 22.

But Rodriguez will not take part when Juric’s men aim to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to Spezia ahead of the break.

“The instrumental tests to which Ricardo Rodriguez was subjected, after an injury in the national team with Switzerland,” the club wrote on their website.

“It confirmed the first assessments of the Swiss medical staff, highlighting the results of an injury to the hamstring of the right thigh.

“The player underwent therapies today, new exams scheduled for next week.”
