Fiorentina captain Gonzalo Rodriguez admits he “hasn’t spoken yet” to the club about a new contract.

The defender’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but so far there have been no steps taken to extend his stay in Florence.

“We haven’t spoken yet,” Rodriguez revealed on Radio Bruno Toscana.

“My agent will be in Italy in November, we’ll see. My agent will definitely talk to Fiorentina and then we’ll decide what to do.”

The Viola have taken just eight points from their first six games of the Serie A season, but Rodriguez isn’t too concerned.

“We’re not playing badly. We deserved to win against Milan, they just came here to defend. We had a lot of chances against Torino, while they had two shots on target and scored twice.

“We have to stay calm, we’ve had a difficult schedule and I’m not worried.”
