Sebastian Frey doesn’t understand Fiorentina‘s strategy and reveals Franck Ribery wants to stay at the Artemio Franchi.
The French star’s contract with La Viola expires at midnight, and according to Sky Sport Italia, the Tuscans are unwilling to extend his stay at the club.
Ribery seemed close to signing a two-year contract extension last month when Gennaro Gattuso was appointed Fiorentina coach.
The former midfielder has then left the club and the Tuscans are on the verge of appointing Vincenzo Italiano as their new coach for next season.
“I don’t understand the club’s strategy, Ribery still wants to help, but he hasn’t received any information from the club,” Frey, a former Fiorentina goalkeeper, told Radio Toscana.
Frey also read a message that was sent to him by his compatriot: “I want to stay at Fiorentina, that’s my priority. I feel well in Florence and with Fiorentina fans.”
