Sky, Tuttomercatoweb and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website are all reporting that, despite trying to negotiate a discount, the Diavolo have decided to pay the €35m release clause.

It’s thought that the only major sticking point is the method of payment, with Milan requesting to deliver in installments, while Porto are looking for a lump sum.

Martinez’s agent said earlier today that a transfer to a ‘big European side’ was very close, and Gianluca Di Marzio reports that a deal could even be completed today.
