Multiple reports in Italy suggest Rolando Maran is close to joining Spezia, who are working to replace Vincenzo Italiano at the helm.

Fiorentina announced Italiano as their new coach with a cheeky social media song and the former Aquilotti tactician has signed a two-year deal with an option to extend for a third season at the Artemio Franchi.

The Ligurian side are now preparing for a change and have parted ways with sporting director Mauro Meluso, with Riccardo Pecini replacing him at the Stadio Alberto Picco.

Sky Sport Italia and SportItalia claim former Genoa and Cagliari coach Maran is close to the job as head coach of the Aquilotti, with Marco Giampaolo mentioned as a possible alternative by Tuttomercatoweb.

Karagumruk coach Francesco Farioli has also been linked with a return to Serie A and the job at Spezia, but the broadcasters claim Maran has entered talks with the club and is close to reaching an agreement.
