The veteran would have to take a massive pay cut, as his expiring deal with Les Parisiens was worth €12m a year and talks of an extension has stalled in recent months.

Milan have in recent months been linked with Red Bull director Ralf Rangnick and look set to offer the German a manager role, taking full sporting power at Milanello.

The project has allegedly targeted cost-efficient young players and to bring a soon-to-be 36-year-old wouldn't seem like the priority, but the link between Thiago Silva and Milan continues to be strong.

The Rossoneri signed him from Fluminense in January 2009 and the player went on to appear 119 times for the club, contributing to their last Scudetto in 2010-11 and the Supercoppa Italiana the following season.

PSG are reportedly looking at both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Ismael Bennacer to move in the opposite direction.
