The newspaper explains De Laurentiis has identified Rui Patricio as ‘the perfect heir’ to Pepe Reina, who is expected to move to Milan once his contract expires in June.

However, the Partenopei would consider Sporting’s 15m asking price ‘excessive’ and hope to use the shot-stopper’s desire for a transfer.

Rui Patricio has spent his entire career with the Lisbon club and kept goal during Portugal’s Euro 2016 conquest.
