Roma are reportedly planning to tie down Italy forward Stephan El Shaarawy to a new contract until 2022.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, ‘contact has initiated’ over El Shaarawy’s contract being extended beyond 2020.
The website explains that although negotiations haven’t officially started yet, ‘it’s a situation that could be unblocked by December.’
The 26-year-old was linked with leaving the Giallorossi last summer but has started nine of their 13 games this season, scoring three goals.
