In what seems like a long-running saga involving York Capital and Italian sides, Gianluca Di Marzio claims it will sign a preliminary agreement to buy Palermo before Wednesday.

Di Marzio explains the group sees the Rosanero as a club in an ‘interesting’ catchment area, given their status as Sicily’s biggest outfit.

Furthermore, there would be scope for a new training complex and stadium, as well as investment in the playing squad, who are just a point off the top two in Serie B.

Despite President Rino Foschi appearing to deny links with York Capital last week, the Sky Sport journalist writes he is coming around to the idea.

York Capital had previously been tipped to purchase Sampdoria, while it already owns NBA franchise Milwaukee Bucks.
