Martin Odegaard will not be signing for Milan this summer as the midfielder has decided to stay at Real Sociedad for another season.

Odegaard was reported to be a transfer target for Milan, who took Theo Hernandez from Madrid last year and have been heavily linked with Luka Jovic.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports the Norwegian has already informed Real Sociedad of his desire to remain at the club for the 2020-21 campaign.

Los Merengues had the option to recall the 21-year-old from his loan spell, but Luka Modric plans to finish his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Odegaard has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 29 games for the Basque side, who are fourth in La Liga – enough to qualify for the Champions League next term.
