Valencia reportedly eye a possible deal for Milan defender Mateo Musacchio, who lost his place in the starting line-up at San Siro after the arrival of Simon Kjaer.

The Argentine defender's agent revealed he was not happy with Stefano Pioli’s decision to bring in a replacement during the January transfer market but has kept working to reclaim his starting position at San Siro.

Musacchio’s deal with the Rossoneri expires in June 2021 and has not started negotiations to extend his stay beyond next summer.

Calciomercato.com claims Valencia are looking to bolster their defence and the new sporting director at Los Che, Cesar Sanchez, has allegedly put Musacchio at the top of his wish list.

The outlet writes about contact between the club and the player’s representatives, as the two know each other from their time as teammates at Villarreal in 2011-12.

But Musacchio would like to understand the intentions at Milan, in case Ralf Rangnick arrives and is ready to gift him a new chance to impress in the fashion capital.

The report still claims that Real Betis and Sevilla are following the situation too and the Diavolo could be willing to listen if any offer for the 29-year-old exceeds €10m.
