Milan are asking for a loan with an option to buy, but the Spanish champions don’t want to include an option to sign the 21-year-old.

A loan deal is on offer to give the youngster valuable first-team experience, but Real Madrid don’t want to lose the former Spain Under-21 international, should he take the next step whilst on loan somewhere else.

Diaz played 21 times for Real since his move from Manchester City, where he was given 15 appearances before returning to Spain.
