Napoli right-back Christian Maggio is reportedly set to join freshly-relegated Verona.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Maggio plans to end his career as close as possible to his birthplace of Vicenza.

Consequently, Verona are expected to be the ‘next and last’ club of his playing career, given there are only 43km between the two cities.

The 36-year-old joined Napoli from Sampdoria in 2008 and went on to make 307 appearances for the Partenopei under Edy Reja, Roberto Donadoni, Walter Mazzarri, Rafa Benitez and Maurizio Sarri.
