Former Milan sporting director Leonardo is reportedly closing in on a return to Paris Saint-Germain.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website expects him to replace Antero Henrique as PSG’s sporting director.

Leonardo is a free agent after leaving Milan last month, while he worked for the French giants between 2011 and 2013.

During his first stint he brought in several players from Italy, including Javier Pastore, Marco Verratti, Salvatore Sirigu, Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, the Brazilian stepped down after he was given a lengthy ban for pushing a referee during a Ligue 1 game.

The 49-year-old should be given the funds he craves to improve a PSG side who have yet to go beyond the Champions League quarter-finals since being taken over by Qatar Sports Investments.
